Some people have asked why I think that Google Apps for Education is the solution to the email problem. Northwestern is a peer institution that is very similar to WUSTL in terms of size, location and ranking. Northwestern decided to outsource email to Google Apps for Education for many of the same reasons that we want to. In fact, Northwestern's student government was largely responsible for the school's decision!

Google is a company that spurs innovation and is always on the cutting edge of technology. They have a history of introducing new technologies that revolutionize how people live. Students would greatly benefit from Google Apps, and the University would be greatly enhanced by developing a partnership with Google. Especially since Google Apps is FREE!
If you haven't already done so, please sign the petition! Go to http://su.wustl.edu/GoogleAppsNow and join all the other students who have!

I'm pretty positive Google Apps for your domain (the version we'd use) is $50/person/year.
Just making sure your facts are straight.
Actually, the $50/person/year is for the Business Edition. The University would be going with the Education Edition which is free for all users.
