Spring 2009 Category I budget for Mama's Pot Roast

Craft Development

We are a fluid group, and every year we lose old members and gain new ones. The sum of our talents is always in flux, but whenever possible, we hope to strengthen our own abilities as a group. By participating in workshops and attending shows of well-established improv groups, we can learn a great deal about our craft, and it will help us strengthen our talents as a whole.

Chicago Trip

Mama's Pot Roast will take a trip up to Chicago to participate in an improv workshop and watch professional improvisers, both of which will help our group to develop skills and improve the overall quality of our performances. (Since, in the past, SU has not funded our requests for tickets and workshops at the initial budget round, group president Julia Martin has suggested that we wait and appeal for them after the allocations.)

Increase Group Awareness on Campus

Mama's Pot Roast cares greatly about increasing campus interest in the art of improvisation. As the oldest short-form group at WashU, we feel it is very important that students and faculty alike can come to our shows and gain a deeper appreciation for what we do.

Knighta Komedy

Knighta Komedy is Mama's Pot Roast big end-of-the-year show, which combines improv games and sketch comedy.
