Exemplify the Value of Service
Provide examples of the value of service, especially in the St. Louis community, through artistic or creative avenues.
Perspective Project
To gain a unique perspective on poverty through the eyes of those who live it, we want to give disposable cameras to a group of homeless persons who frequent Centenary Cares Kitchen. We will use the photos to create an artistic display to show on campus as well as an exhibit at Centenary Cares. We will travel to Centenary Cares Kitchen at the beginning of the week to volunteer over the lunch hour, explain our project, and develop a preliminary list of people interested in participating. We will return two days later, volunteering again, and then distributing care packages (of basic items: shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, etc) along with disposable cameras to the interested participants. At the end of the week we will volunteer our lunchtime again and collect the cameras. Soon after, we will hold an outdoor event on campus showcasing the pictures.

Keep track of individuals or groups who have donated the most grains of rice in a specified time limit or throughout the competition to give prizes at end of competition. Increase Communication
Increase frequency of communication with other student groups, poverty-related and non-, to better coordinate events and improve cooperation. Spreading awareness of worthy causes is a core aspect of ASAP and more communication between groups will allow us to help make sure worthwhile initiatives are supported on and off campus.
Screening of "Flow:For the Love of Water" Documentary
Collaborate with the green groups on campus to sponsor a screening of the documentary "Flow: For the Love of Water" about how water affects issues of health and poverty in Angola, India, and South Africa. The focus on how these problems can be ameliorated parallels the efforts of the University as well as many of the environmentally friendly and poverty-related student groups on campus.
