Increase campus awareness of Darfur Genocide and fundraise for Darfur Charities
Our goal this semester is primarily to raise awareness around campus on the issue of genocide in Darfur and harness the compassion in Wash U students through fundraising for Darfur charities in order to make a difference in the area. Such issues are often ignored, few of us think about them on a day to day basis. However, through putting on events we hope to change this and bring the issue of Darfur, which is a pressing issue and one of the most tragic happenings of our generation, to the forefront of campus discussions and activism so that the many future leaders which Wash U produces will graduate with a passion to stop the mass murder in Darfur.
Movie Showing #1
We will be showing the movie Sand and Sorrow as an entertaining way of raising awareness for the Darfur genocide. We plan to provide refreshments for attendees.

Peace Flags for Darfur
We will facilitate the making of peace flags as a fun cultural event to raise awareness for Darfur. We will provide materials for the peace flags for students who would like to make one. We also plan to provide cupcakes in exchange for participation.
