Category I Budget Workshops!

Having trouble with crafting your budget? Can't figure out where to go on the website to submit it? Come to Budget Workshops this week! Here are the available times:
Monday (10/5):
9-11:30am 2-5pm
Tuesday (10/6):
9-11:30am 
Wednesday (10/7):
9-11:30am 2:30 - 5pm
Thursday (10/8):
9-11:30am 5-7pm
Friday (10/9):
9-11:30am 1-4pm
Belina and I will be sitting in our cubicle on the first floor of Student Union offices in the DUC. Once you get inside the offices, make a right, go past the copiers, and the cubicles will be on the left. Our cubicle is the third on the left.
Come by if you have any questions about the budget submission process, and we will do our best to answer them.

Treasurer Resources - Treasurer's Training Recap

Dear Student Group Treasurers,

Thanks so much to everyone for taking the time out of their schedules to come to Treasurer's Training! We know a lot of these policies and procedures can be a bit dry, but it's essential to have this event to relay all of this information to you, especially all the strict university accounting policies. We also know that it's impossible to remember all of that information, so we've attached the Powerpoint presentation, and here's a link to How Things Work (a helpful guide to student group rules and resources) if you ever need to refer to it.

Again, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us at budget@su.wustl.edu. However, it's much easier to answer questions in person, so here are Belina's and my office hours:

Eliot:

Tuesdays 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Fridays 11am - 12pm

Belina:

Mondays 11am - 12pm
Wednesdays 2:30pm - 3:30pm

Important Fall Budget Dates!!

As the school year gets started, it's that time again: Budgets! 

Here are some important dates to put on your calendars:

Category II:

Open: Now! If you have experience making budgets, go ahead and login to your SU account! If not, Presidents' and Treasurers' training is coming up on 9/13 at 1:00pm.

Closed: Friday, September 25th at 5:00pm.

Category I:

Open: Sunday, September 13th.

Closed: Friday, October 23rd at 5:00pm

Budget Workshops: If the you're having budget issues, small or large, come see us from 10/5 - 10/9! We'll be sending out another update with the specific times as we get closer.

Your New Budget Committee Chairs!

Dear Students,

    We are writing to let you know about the change in leadership in Treasury. As you may know, David Cohen, the previous Budget Committee chair is now the SU Vice President of Finance. Treasury recently held its first meeting of the 2009-2010 term and held elections for the three committees. As such, we wanted to take this time to introduce ourselves, and let you know about what ideas we have to make the budgeting process even smoother.

Category I Student Group Budget Interviews

Just a reminder that all Category I Student Group budgets are due this Friday, February 27, by 5 PM. Also, signup times for interviews regarding your budget will be posted Tuesday morning. Please check in the SU Office by the Vice President of Finance's cubicle window for the signup sheets. You will have until this Friday, at 5 PM, to signup for an interview time. All Student Groups have been assigned to a Budget Allocation Team (BAT), and will meet with various Budget Committee members regarding their budget.
