April 16, 2007

“The battle on this campus is not with the administration but with fellow students. The real need is to understand that as students we are a group of people with common interests, and that our source of power lies in collective action” Student Life, September 19, 1969.

A lot has changed since 1969. Furbies, Tomagochis, iPods, Guitar Hero, American Idol, Sanjaya, the creation of Aaron Robinson. But on college campuses across the nation, specifically ours at Washington University, we seem to be lacking an identity as students. Individually, we're the best thing ever. But as a group, what do we stand for?

OBAMA Ice Sculpture!

In case you missed it on campus, today one of our very own sushi chefs, Naomi Hamamura, created and designed an ice sculpture of President Barack Obama.  This website has a collection of pictures of the scultpure in the making as well as pictures that YOU took with the sculpture.  Enjoy!

New President's and Treasurer's Training

LabSci 300-Sun, Jan 25th @ 1pm


Orientation will be Sunday, January 25th in LabSci 300 with check-in beginning at 12:15pm with the training starting at 1pm.  We anticipate that it will last no longer than 2 hours for the president's portion with the treasurer's training immediately following.  Although only new presidents and treasurers are required to attend this training, all presidents and treasurers are highly encouraged to attend as we will be introducing some new and exciting resources for the upcoming semester like google apps and an online collaboration resource for student groups.  Please RSVP at the above link so that we know who will be attending.  We will not be serving food, so plan to eat beforehand or afterward and feel free to bring a water bottle.
