Description

AIGA wishes to establish a network with professional designers and to educate the student community with Visual Communications majors about the nature of graphic design. Our goals are as follows: 1. Connections. To establish a stronger connection between students and the design world, Visual Communications juniors and seniors, and VisComm students and faculty. The relationship between juniors and seniors might involve: a. Help with Computer Programs, b. General things the seniors learned after being in the major for a year 2. Theory and practice. To bridge the gap between academics and the professional design world. We could do this through events such as the portfolio review and the resume writing workshop. Getting to know people and the process of social networking in the design community at various levels is important. 3. Student needs. To address and help solve student concerns relating to the major. 4. Events. To plan events at appropriate time that cater to specific interests. Events we would like to focus on are: Speakers, Portfolio review, discussions, gallery show non lecture based programs.
