Category II Budget Process
The following is the procedure to submit a category II group budget. Category II groups are those that have received official recognition from Student Union through SGAC (sgac@su.wustl.edu) and are thus given the ability to apply for a semesterly budget.
The deadline for category II budgets varies from semester to semester, so please contact Budget Committee (budget@su.wustl.edu) if you have any questions regarding the deadline or the budget process.
- Read over the budget manual found on the Student Group Resources page.
- To write your actual budget, you need to log into the Student Group Portal.
- Once in the portal, expand the "Budget Information" branch on the left navigation and click on "Open Budgets".
- Find the category labeled with the current semester and also labeled "Category II". Click on "Create Budget".
- Fill out the budget using the guidelines in the budget manual, and if you have questions, e-mail Budget Committee. Remember, it's better to ask questions before you submit the budget than after.
- Once your budget is complete, e-mail Budget Committee (budget@su.wustl.edu) and tell them your group name and that your budget is ready for review.
- Budget Committee meets weekly and they'll review your budget at that time. They should get back to you within 1-2 weeks regarding the status of your budget.
- After you're notified by Budget Committee, your funding will be deposited in your account within a week.
