Open Positions

Rep. of the Moment

Jeffrey Griffin
For his extensive support of the Student Group Activities Committee in helping organize the logistics of President's Orientation, volunteering to be the SGAC manager of the Umrath student group center, and being an effective and central member of the committee. Jeff has emerged not only as a leader in SGAC but also in the Treasury of Student Union as well. Thank you, Jeff, for all your hard work and dedication to SU.

The mission of Student Union is to create a vibrant campus community by: advocating for the needs and interests of undergraduate students, developing and implementing both innovative and traditional programs, and allocating the student activity fee to unique and engaging activities, programs, and initiatives.

It is the vision of Student Union to responsibly serve and empower every undergraduate student to be a force for change and improvement while fostering and preserving tradition at Washington University in St. Louis.

Outlook Setup

Many student groups on campus prefer to use outside e-mail clients instead of webmail to view their e-mail. Since there has been some confusion on how to set Outlook up properly, here is a step-by-step guide for configuring Outlook 2003.
  1. Open Outlook 2003.

  2. On the file menu, click on "Tools" then on "E-Mail Accounts..."

  3. A window should popup that says "E-Mail Accounts". Select "Add a new e-mail account" and then click "Next >".

  4. Select "POP3" and then click "Next >".

  5. In "Your Name", type the name of your student group (i.e. "Club Name").
  6. In "E-Mail Address", type your e-mail (i.e. club@sugroups.wustl.edu).
  7. In "User Name", type the first part of your e-mail (i.e. club).
  8. In "Password", type the password given to you by SGAC. Also, make sure "Remember Password" is checked.
  9. In "Incoming mail server (POP3)", type "sugroups.wustl.edu" (without the quotes).
  10. In "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)", type "sugroups.wustl.edu" (without the quotes).
  11. Click "Next >" and then "Finish".
  12. Now click on "Send/Receive" in the toolbar and your e-mail should be downloaded to your computer.
