Every Student Union recognized group is eligible to receive the following benefits:
Student Union mailbox, email address, web space, and a copy code
The possibility of using University or Student Union meeting space
The ability to post advertising on University property as described in the Posting Policy in
How Things Work
The possibility of receiving office space, a telephone line, and basic office supplies
Category I Groups
: Include those that are eligible to receive the possibility of funding.
Eligible to receive any amount as advised by the Budget Committee in a written budget application, in addition to receiving funds for speakers, etc. by appealing to the Treasury.
All funds should be used to realize the organization's stated purpose or goal as presented in their constitution and their budget application or forfeiture of remaining funds and/or deregistration may result. Before the organization can spend its allocation(s), student group representatives must attend all mandatory orientations and the Treasurer submit their signature for the record in the Student Union business office.
The group must follow all applicable University policies concerning fundraising and development.
Groups shall not directly donate funds allocated by Student Union to any non-University entity.
Category II Groups:
Include those that are eligible to receive the possibility of funding.
Eligible to receive a maximum of $500.00 each semester in the form of a one-time allocation at the discretion of the Budget Committee, in addition to receiving funds for speakers by appealing to the Treasury.
Category II groups are held to the same funding standards as Category I groups.
Category III Groups:
Not eligible for any funding. Still entitled to all benefits of being a Student Union recognized group.
