Executive Council Approves Appeal for an Additional $15,000 towards WILD

In a unanimous decision, Executive Council voted 7-0-0 to grant Team 31 an additional $15,000 for talent towards fall WILD. At last year's General Budget meetings, many students felt that more money should be given towards WILD, since it is one of the most anticipated traditions on our campus each semester, and directly benefits a large portion of the student population. We followed their sentiments and granted Team 31 the additional money, which we hope will help make this coming WILD a very memorable one. End of the Year Financial Updates

Just a reminder that the last day to turn in expense reports will be Friday, May 1, at 5 PM. If you are turning in expense reports now, please provide a home address for the Business Managers, as they may not process some of the expense reports until later in the summer. Also, the last day to request an extension or carry forward on funds will be Friday, May 1, at 5 PM. Lastly, the extended hours for the Student Union Offices for next week will be different. They are as follows:

April 26: 4:00pm-9:00pm
April 27th-29th: 9:00am-8:00pm

General Budget Release Date

The General Budget will be released this Monday at around 5 P.M. Although I would have liked to have released it sooner, a last minute meeting is being held this Monday with Jill Carnaghi and Dean McLeod regarding the Danforth University Center contribution, which will have a significant impact on the budget. General Budget: Giving Money to the DUC

Every year, each student contributes 1% of tuition to a Student Activities Fee, in order to make a large collective pot of funding that spawns most of the programming on our campus. Next year, we will each contribute $378, generating an estimated total of $2,203,362.00. In the next few weeks, I will be working on a General Budget to propose exactly how that money is spent. On April 14 and 15, that budget will be approved by Treasury and Senate.

Mosaic Whispers Appeal Approved

An appeal was approved for $325 for the Mosaic Whispers, covering the cost of a car rental and gas. The Mosaic Whispers are traveling to Kansas State University to open for Ben Folds, in his last concert on his national tour. Earlier this year, the Mosaic Whispers recorded a song with Ben Folds for his new album, which debuts next Tuesday. We wish them the best of luck!

Category I Student Group Budget Interviews

Just a reminder that all Category I Student Group budgets are due this Friday, February 27, by 5 PM. Also, signup times for interviews regarding your budget will be posted Tuesday morning. Please check in the SU Office by the Vice President of Finance's cubicle window for the signup sheets. You will have until this Friday, at 5 PM, to signup for an interview time. All Student Groups have been assigned to a Budget Allocation Team (BAT), and will meet with various Budget Committee members regarding their budget.
