We've added a couple of cool things to the SU website to make it easier to share content and participate in discussion.
Twitter Integration
In addition to the standard "share" button at the end of each page and blog post, there is now a buttom that allows you to share content with others directly using your Twitter account.

The button is the last one on the far right of the post (twitter logo). Click that button and a message will be generated and ready for you to post to Twitter.

Notice that a short URL is automatically generated so that the tweet doesn't go over 140 characters.
Facebook Connect
We love when users comment content featured on our website. The only drawback is that alot of people tend to post as the user "Anonymous" and that really limits discussion because we don't know who thinks what and its hard to get a dialouge going. Well, we've fixed that problem.
Now, users can post on the SU website using Facebook Connect. This means that you can login to the SU website with your facebook credentials, and have the actions you do on our site reflected on facebook as well. Its really cool!
The first step is to click on the button with a key labeled "Visitor Login >>".

On the next screen, click the button, at the bottom, that says "Sign in using Facebook" (NOTE: Ignore the fields asking for student group, email, or password).

On the next screen, select the option to "...create a new account using Facebook connect"

If you are not logged into facebook, a popup box will come up asking to enter your facebook credentials. THE SU WEBSITE DOES NOT STORE ANY OF YOUR FACEBOOK AUTHENTICATION INFORMATION! If you don't trust us, for some reason, you can login at facebook.com and avoid having to enter your credentials here.
If you are already logged into facebook, you will be redirected to the SU homepage with a confirmation that you've successfully logged in.

Notice, it retrieves your name and profile picture from Facebook. It also gives you the option of publishing a story to your profile reflecting what you've done on the SU Website.

Now, whenever you comment on blog posts of in Open Forum, you no longer have to put in your name or pass the spam test.

You also have the option of publishing your comment to your facebook profile!
So, please start using Facebook Connect to customize your work on the SU website. Please keep commenting and starting talking in Open Forum!
