Re-founded in 2013 after a two year hiatus, Beat Therapy’s CRASH is WashU’s premiere nontraditional percussion group. With repertoire featuring predominately improvisational themes, CRASH aims to explore the sounds of nontraditional instruments like buckets, pots, pans, etc. to create a unique performance experience for their audiences. The group does performances around WashU’s campus and the St. Louis community in addition to collaborating with community service organizations to do workshops with kids of all ages around St. Louis. CRASH has worked with numerous student groups including but not limited to:

  • Dance Marathon
  • American Cancery Society
  • St. Louis Symphony Timpanist Shannon Wood
  • Paraquad
  • Mosaic Whispers
