Beat Therapy’s program with the Autism Services division of Easter Seals Midwest is dedicated to creating innovative lesson plans which emphasize a personhood-first approach to empower the children we interact with to make music with us and with each other.

Each volunteer is paired with a “buddy” for the hour long session. During each visit, we do music based activities to engage the kids such as:

  • Rhythm games
  • Instrument sharing
  • Group singing
  • Drawing in response to music
  • Movement and dancing to music

This program is flexible; volunteers may attend as many or as few sessions as they please!

Sessions are normally on Saturdays and Sundays at various times depending on volunteer schedules.
