Why do you BT? I love being able to say that I’m a part of this organization because I think it embodies what being a WashU student should be about–taking the opportunities and gifts we’ve been afforded and using them to work alongside a diverse range of underserved populations in our community. In particular, I think the program I’m working with provides a unique lens into one of the most vulnerable aspects of people’s lives–the grieving process. Using process-driven songwriting for emotional expression is such a powerful way to memorialize someone’s impact, and it’s truly a privilege to share the process of creating these beautiful, personal works with teens and their families affected by loss.
