Important Info from the Student Group Activities Committee

Good Morning,

Today starts the comment period for SU student groups that are eligible for de-registration. If you are a member of a student group listed below you have the power to submit a 1 page, typed letter stating why you do not think the criteria below apply to your respective group. Additionally, if you know anyone involved in any of the groups listed below please forward them this email. Letters must be emailed as an attachment to no later then Friday, November 7th at 5 p.m. Your letter will be presented to Student Group Activities Committee (SGAC) and then the body will vote. The body has three options: de-registration, funding category demotion, or no action.

Student groups can become eligible for de-registration for the reasons listed below:

  • Failure to submit a budget for 2 or more consecutive semesters
  • Failure to have any recorded spending on SUfinance for 2 or more consecutive semesters
  • Failure to have a registered president or treasurer on SUfinance
  • Misuse of SU funds or property as detailed in How Things Work
  • Repeated violations of SU policy and brand standards
