  • Ashoka Appeal for Nina Davuluri (Miss America 2014)
    • Co-programming with SJC, WU Chaahut
    • Promotes dialogue around xenophobia, South Asian experience
    • November 17th 7-8:30PM Graham Chapel
    • Would bring in Ashoka members, members from Wash U campus, STL community
    • Want to have a meet and greet, do a flash mob w/ Chaahut during various on campus events
    • Reaching out to SPB and CS40
    • Questions around specific costs about food, hotel, general body numbers
    • Treasury discussion around 4 speakers in short time, but still think many people will attend the event
    • Discussion around how money is spent from appeals during the entire year
    • Diversity is a large category: can’t group speakers together
    • Main motion amended to 0
    • Treasury does not think the speakers are the same, event is highly important, just not as this time due to overprogramming
    • Ashoka is appealing to unique South Asian audience in addition to social justice events
    • Main motion of 0 passes 8-7-1
  • Emma proposes Constitutional Amendments on Fall Ballot
    • Making SU Constitution gender neutral
    • Getting rid of extraneous language-adding in stuff about SU Leadership
    • Adding in information about who (Exec member) advises each executive entity
    • School Councils on public ballot
    • DAC constitution must be ratified by SU Exec
    • Election Commissioner is approved by SU President and other exec
    • Speaker of the Senate approves new Senate members when a seat is vacant
  • Treasury will vote on these so they can be on the ballot
    • All pass unanimously
  • Elections packets are due tomorrow—push people to run, contact groups
  • Sports Club Board should be separate
  • Senate passed all amendments
  • SGAC Deregistration period has begun
