Speaker of the Treasury called to order the Treasury session at 9.30pm today at Simon 113.

III. Confirmation of Student Union Vice-President of Public Relations.

Treasury confirmed Chan Kwon, by a unanimous vote, as the new Student Union Vice-President of Public Relations. Associate Justice Joe Warren swore in the new Student Union VP PR.

Treasury approved funding for 12 WU Sauces members (8 new members and 4 choreographers) to attend the event in Chicago.Treasury noted that, for 2014 Chicago International Salsa Congress, WU Sauce brought less members and re-allocated close to $1,000 of SU funding to food.

Treasury deliberated over the purpose of the student activities fee and if it should be used to fund a regional conference that, according to the presentation, seemed to be focused on job-search.

Comments:
Masquerade is the formal party for Hillel Leadership Council. It is being hosted at a club venue in the city.Treasury deliberated over the mandatory venue tax/gratuity, because Wash U is a tax-free institution. Treasury funded the event in full and direct HLC to check with Student Involvement & Leadership and the SU Business Coordinators regarding the tax/gratuity fee.

V. Updates

Executive:
Treasury confirmed new Student Union Vice-President of Public Relations, Chan Kwon, by a unanimous vote (19 votes in favor).SU Execs are helping out with the interviews for the new Business Coordinator.
Senate:
Josh Whitman, new athletic director talked to Senate and talked about facilities and boosting turnout at events.
Judicial:
Associate Justice Joe Warren swore in the new VP PR.New Con Council website is up and runningCon Council is working on editing the Constitution and its interpretation
Committees:
Inaugural Spring Presidents and Treasurers’ training was held last Saturday.
Budget Committee BAT interview times are set.SGAC met last week. They did mock applications, introduced SUGR (Student Union Group Review), and appointed 4 new members (Kenyah Calhoun, Jennifer Kim, Huang Xiren, and Jack Glick.) SGAC will meet again this weekend.

Discussion on Women’s Engineering Society and the job-oriented nature of the event. Argument that the group is under-represented is not a valid argument because it favors some groups over others. Lisa, Hunter, Chris, Alex R., Bradford
