Comments:
Lots of clarifying questions were asked, but when we moved into discussion we voted quickly with no opposition voiced.

SGAC Appeal for Smash Club:

Change from category 3 to category 2.

Smash Club: mission to get together and play super smash bros and become an integral part of the smash community in St. Louis.

  • Currently category 3
  • Want a budget to increase inventory and buy more food and drinks and for transportation
  • Frequent events with a large turnout

Problems:

  • Give half of entry fee to winner, half to fundraising account
  • Been storing equipment in Lopata and with members

Motion to deny was met with opposition (7 votes) to vote. Voted not to vote (0 yes, 19 no)

Vote to approve: Passed! (12 yes, 7 no)

Taiwanese Student Organization:

Incorrectly evaluated by Budget Committee, so we are voting to approve a re-allocation of their budget.

2) Motion to vote: passed! (19 for, 0 against)

More or less: good job with appeals, good question! Don’t be scared to motion.

Hunter
Could have sped up the Smash Club discussion. Talked in circles. If it is unprecedented, it is okay if it is still legal.

Maaz
The SGAC/Smash category change is new for Treasury but still important to discuss to see how Treasury’s decision is made.

Hunter
Procedurally it seems out of the ordinary, but I understand why we did it.

Keaton
After a while we were undermining the decision of Hunter and Danyao. We were beating a dead horse.

Lemoine
Be confident in your decisions. I brought the category change to see Treasury’s decision and opinion.

Hunter
We have the power to approve a category change too.

Lisa

Appointed members aren’t here, SGAC is more than just the chair.

Harvey
The pros of saving SGAC time doesn’t validate our decision. Sam
