V. Statute Changes

Proposal Comments
Treasurer EducationàGroup Training’ Treasurer’s OrientationàTreasurer’s Training
-Budget Committee has the power to allow students to charge fees to be deposited in fundraising account, should be appealed to Treasury and Treasury can veto BC’s decision by a majority vote

-SGAC has the power to charge for renting equipment currently but shifting to Budget Committee

-A student group can’t charge

-Deleted from BC Statute

– discussing eliminating all together

– SU equipment is SU equipment and we don’t want student groups to pay for SU equipment

– Bradford: “Why does this even exist”

-Kenneth: in regard to SU groups charging each other

-SGAC has to say if a group needs equipment, and it goes to VP Finance or Treasury

-As of now, just goes into Budget so SGAC doesn’t have to have a hearing

-Removed from SGAC statutes

– CAT III groups now get SU Funding, now SU has to approve CAT III groups because they are being funded by SU
– CAT III group deregistration now has to go before Treasury
-Competition Committee: BC will now absorb Competition Committee
-CAT III groups can receive SU money (added)
