Thanks everyone for coming!!! We all participated and did a good job. Bill
We flew through that, we were efficient. Going back to Black Anthology, we were uncomfortable about the venue costing $1800 but at the end of the day it’s fine/ understanding their circumstances with Speaker Series background

Keaton

Thanks Keaton for speaking your mind about not being comfortable with the venue, thanks Rosie for bringing up Speaker Series. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind! Laura
We are good at being more efficient, but we actually have to have equal scrutiny to all groups. Even if it’s a good appeal, still be sure to ask question. Lemoine
Energy level was pretty low, there aren’t a lot of people here. There should always be a comment in discussion about why things should be funded/not funded. Vikram

More on Black Anthology price point

Bill
Disagreement is good Minki
Does Treasury have guiding principles on how to handle situations like that? Want the speaker, but definitely more expensive to host in a smaller venue. Uncomfortable saying no, uncomfortable funding Max
As Treasury, we shouldn’t choose where to have the event but should give the funds where they should best be used, so we maybe didn’t want this event but we should fund differently Jackie
We maybe funded this only because Black Anthology had this issue with Speaker Series Minki
Would have been more comfortable had we tabled the discussion but given the time of year, that seemed weird. It’s a personal decision and we try not to put in an opinion but at the end of the day it’s everyone’s own opinion. Go with your gut! It’s all an extremely case by case scenario (in response to Max) Laura
There are a lot of times in Treasury that are case by case, we are elected for a reason so use the good judgment that you have Lemoine
In other cases, be okay saying a choice is “too expensive” and not fund that choice but they probably wouldn’t have been able to find another room if that was the circumstance Rosie
I would like to be in a group with a photo booth. Minki
Good luck on finals! Lemoine
Let’s have a Treasury social. Minki
