IV. Updates

Executive:
Election packets out tomorrow. Uptick in budget positivity after the general budget.

 

Senate:
-Changing the election structure to stop withholding seats for separate schools sans one for each school. Approved by a 15–2 vote.

-Making it so that at every SU Leadership meeting advocacy is discussed. Approved 16-1.

-Alter the committees in senate to include Campus Initiatives Committee, Project Services Committee, and Student Affairs Committee and the powers vested in them. Approved by a vote of 17-0.

-Ad-Hoc Committees: Any senator can create a semester-long committee comprised of any student to discuss current issues. Approved 16 – 1.

-BAT Senate co-leaders: Motion to amend to take out part 2. of the Senate Advocacy Framework. 10-7 Passed.

15-2 vote to pass parts 1 and 3.

National Pan-Hellenic Council is recommended to join Student Union as a Category III student group. SIL and Activities Committee have recommended them to join SU. Was approved by a 17-0 vote.

 

De-Registering:

Connect 4: They have all graduated and want to be de-registered. De-registered by a vote of 17-0 (contingent upon checking Pre-O status).

Student Health Advisory Committee: They merged with another group and their faculty advisors recommended de-registration. De-registered by a vote of 17-0.
