Treasury and Class Council Applications

Thank you for your interest in joining Student Union! Student Union (SU) is an extremely diverse organization with many parts. It is responsible for a range of projects, from programming events, to allocating a $3.4 million budget, to advocating for student concerns. Currently we have applications open for Treasury, Junior Class Council, and Sophomore Class Council. See below for details on each position as well as links to the application.

Want to help make a difference on campus?  Consider joining Student Union! SU Treasury currently has multiple appointed representative positions available, as well as positions on the Activities and Budget Committees.  As Student Union’s primary allocating body, Treasury focuses on funding and allocating the $3.4 million General Budget to student groups and campus programs throughout the year.  The deadline for applications is Friday, April 6th at 5:00pm. Class Councils: Due Saturday, March 31st at Noon

From student engagement activities like “Last Hump of the Month” promoting “pawsitivity” to advocacy initiatives that promote mental health, Class Council members are dedicated to creating bonding opportunities for their class. Contact one of the Class Council members to suggest potential collaborations or fun programming ideas! Click on links below to apply!

The following Executive roles apply to the Class Councils of 2019, 2020, and 2021

The class President is responsible for presiding over class council meetings, and serving as the official representative of the class. When leading the class council the President is expected to set and present the agenda and direct discourse throughout the meetings. The President will set the vision for programming in order to unify their class. The President also participates in bi-weekly SU leadership meetings.

Vice President of Administration
The class Vice President of Administration focuses on affairs within the class, and Washington University as a whole. The position handles contact with Washington University entities.

Vice President of Finance
The class Vice President of Finance is responsible for disbursement and accounting of revenues and expenditures, and authorization of all expenditures. The VP Finance also must complete the Student Union Treasurers’ Training at the beginning of the school year.

Vice President of Programming
The class Vice President of Programming acts as the class representative to external entities. The VP of Programming is the contact for all on and off campus vendors related to Class Council programming.

Vice President of Public Relations
The class Vice President of Public Relations coordinates publicity of class events, and prepares a report to present to the class regarding Class Council activities at least once per semester. The VP of PR should work to keep their class informed of events on campus.
