President and Treasurer Email 9/18/18

Good Morning Presidents & Treasurers,

Here are some continuing updates for you all as your start the week!

  1. Student Group Leaders Training

  2. Updating WUGO Rosters

  3. Category Change Application

  4. Responsible Community Training Program

  5. Game Day Committee Application Extended

  6. Student Union Leadership Office Hours

  7. Appealing for Events not Funded in Group Budget

Student Group Leaders Training (SGLT):

For those groups whose treasurers did not attend Student Group Leaders Training on September 9th, you must attend one of the two remaining make-up trainings this month (see below). Group treasurers who don’t attend either SGLT or one of the make-ups will cause their group’s accounts to be frozen in SU Finance, since it is a huge responsibility to manage group finances and we want to make sure treasurers are well-equipped to do so. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Remaining make-up training dates:

  • 9/20: 3:30PM–4:00PM, DUC 234

  • 9/26: 11:00AM–11:30AM, DUC 234

Updating WUGO Rosters:

Please make sure to update your groups’ WUGO roster to reflect your current members and remove of anyone who has graduated/not a part of your group anymore. If you are receiving this email and don’t think you should be, please reach out to the new leadership of your group and ask them to update the roster and remove you.

Category Change Application:

Are you interested in changing your group’s funding category? Apply for a Category Change here. Click on the link to apply and learn more about the benefits and requirements of CAT II and I groups. The deadline to apply is Thursday, September 20 and 11:45 pm. Please reach out to Activities Committee Chair, Andrew Kocins ( ude.l1545007629tsuw.1545007629us@se1545007629itivi1545007629tca1545007629) with any questions.

Responsible Community Training Program:

At SGLT, we introduced a Responsible Community Training pilot program to better our campus community. For groups participating in the program, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the resources available. More details will be sent via email on how to schedule and personalize the training to your group’s needs and interests. Please see the attachment for more information. If you have any questions, please reach out to Speaker of Treasury, Alia Nahra ( treasury@su.wustl.edu).

Game Day Committee Application Extended:

Student Union is currently putting together a Game Day Committee to help plan future tailgates, since the first Game Day of the football season was so successful! The application has been extended to allow for more students to express their interest in joining.  Please fill out this form by 11:59PM on September 20 to be considered for a seat on the Committee. Reach out to Charlotte ( ude.l1545007629tsuw.1545007629us@gn1545007629immar1545007629gorp1545007629) with any questions.

Student Union Leadership Office Hours:

All 5 members of SU’s Executive Board, along with the Legislative leadership of Senate and Treasury, hold weekly office hours, which you find here. Feel free to stop by the SU Office to talk to any of us about questions/comments/concerns or just to say hi!

Appealing for Events not Funded in Group Budget:

As groups start to submit appeals for events happening this semester, please know that if your event/line item wasn’t funded through the semesterly budget process, please seek clarification regarding why that was the case before submitting an appeal for the same event/line item. You can reach out to Budget Committee Chair, Agneesh Dasgupta ( ude.l1545007629tsuw.1545007629us@te1545007629gdub1545007629) with questions.

Have a great week!

Best,

Shelly
