DecisionThe newly recognized groups were confirmed

Decision Rationale:
Activities Committee approved these groups all at a Category 5 status, which requires a fairly objective set of criteria.  With the knowledge that Peggy, Zoe, and the entirety of Activities Committee rigorously checked that all groups complied with these criteria, Treasury is comfortable confirming Activities Committee’s decisions.

  1. Open Forum
Will groups be required to submit budgets for Spring 2021?Malar
A decision on that is coming soon, my inclination is for groups to submit budgets for approximately three events so we can have data on how to follow up in fall of 2021.  By no means will there be pressure on student groups to submit these three events and it won’t be held against groups who don’t submit.Zach
I will be sending out information regarding the upcoming term and ways for new members to get oriented with the committee’s procedures and such.Fadel
I will be doing the same for Activities Committee.Zoe
One possibility is we could give groups the opportunity to go back to their budget from Spring 2020 and replicate it for Spring 2021.Justina
I would be hesitant to do that since one year is a decently large amount of time where a considerable amount of capacity to program could have changed within a group.Zach
We are ideally working towards a point where we don’t even ask groups to submit a budget; instead we would just ask them to submit appeals if they need money for a specific event.Alexa
Can fundraising account money be used to pay for certain programming events this semester?Max
There are certain restrictions on what fundraising account money can be used on; those restrictions can be found in the SUFG.  However, all groups must still submit a event application to Campus Life even if they are taking out of fundraising account.Alexa
Time again for your regularly scheduled civic engagement programming please send in your voter registration in the state of Missouri; I am a registered notary if you need help!Otto
  1. Updates
Speaker and Committee Chair:
We will plan on having another Treasury session next Tuesday, dependent on whether an appeal is submitted in time.Zach(Speaker)
I will also be sending out a when2meet soon so stay tuned.  Furthermore, the second round of our new group and category change applications are due on Friday.Zoë(AC Chair)
Please mind your email accounts if you are BC I will be sending out a when2meet soon!Fadel(BC Chair)
Two victories we have won with school is that the cost of laundry will be decreased across campus and that menstrual products will be distributed more widely starting next academic year.Ranen(SUP)
We are working with Aly Raisman to see if she could come in the spring in-person, failing that we are also looking into bringing her in in a virtual format this fall.Charlotte(VPP)
As Zach mentioned, we ended up going with the lowest rung of the revised General Budgets that were approved last semester, resulting in a $50 Student Activities Fee for all enrolled undergraduates.  Treasurer’s Corner is currently down; we are in the midst of redoing that.  For the Spring Student Activities Fee, that is still up in the air depending on the status of a vaccine, potential enrollment for the Spring, and a variety of other factors.  A process for the Spring General Budget will be coming towards the end of October.  The SU Office will remain closed for the rest of the semester.  The Opportunity Fund, an endowment that SU has contributed a significant amount of money to in the past that is meant for students who have financial challenges preventing them from participating in the full WashU student experience, is going to see a decrease in usage this semester because of COVID-19.  Seeing this, we have attempted to get back some of the money we have contributed, however, we were unsuccessful in our attempt.  We will be holding a bunch of trainings over Zoom for new reps in the coming weeks so please stay tuned for those.Alexa(VPF)
Fiscal FOMO videos have been taken down as they are out of date.  The Campus Life Office is open M-Th from 11-4PM; one staffer will be present.  Once you show up, you will be asked for a reason and contact traced.  As Treasury member, please be familiar with the programming guidelines laid down for this semester in light of COVID-19 so that you can be a resource for our student groups.  Congratulations Arjan and Sophie on becoming student reps to the Board of Trustees!Janice
